This full-day course provides excellent instruction for beginner and intermediate paddlers. Learn how to be prepared for day tripping. We explore the details of regulation equipment, boat design and trip planning. Practicing paddling techniques and rescue scenarios in a calm and controlled environment is a great way to increase your boat control, use less energy and develop confidence for a safe day on the water.

Cancellation policy for Paddle Canada certification programs
CLICK HERE TO READ OUR COMPANY POLICIES. 1000 Islands Kayaking operates within the Paddle Canada program guidelines and offer the Basic Kayak Skills Program with a ratio of one instructor to 6 participants. Due to the logistics and planning for our certification programs, we are unable to provide a refund, if cancellation occurs within 15 days or less, of the intended program. If a replacement for the program is found or for cancellations of more than 15 days, a refund less a 25% administration fee, will be issued.
Please understand that even if you have a sudden medical problem or family emergency, we will not be able to provide the 75% refund, without a replacement for the program, unless more than 15 days are given.
Our certification programs operate rain or shine, with lots of water time and some classroom elements.
If 1000 Islands Kayaking cancels a program due to weather or insufficient registration, we will offer to alter your dates, free of charge, or provide you with a full refund.

PLEASE NOTE: We DO NOT have parking specific to our facility. Parking is available along Main Street and Kate Street, free of charge. A public parking lot can be found on Kate Street and the Municipal Marina parking lot is on Clarence Street.
